the sun

The sun is a big ball of burning fire in the sky.okay thats not exactly the best scientific explanation so what is the sun made of?

If you could take the sun apart, and stack up its various elements of hydrogen.

Sunlight is used to make eletricity.solar cells collect sun energy and make eletruicity for many different uses, from operating toys,to powering homes.Home from the sun is collected to heat water for use in homes and swimming pools. This is known as solar heating.Heat from the sun drives the weather on earth. The sun heats up water so that it evaporates. The water collects in clouds, then falls as rain. The sun also heats up air, which produces winds

The sun is middle-aged that means it was formed 4.5 million years ago.The sun is as big as 1400 times earth. The sun is in the milky way.

Elephants are large land mammals in two genera of the family Elephantidae: Elephas and Loxodonta. Three species of elephant are living today: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant and the Asian elephant (also known as the Indian elephant). All other species and genera of Elephantidae are extinct, some since the last ice age although dwarf forms of mammoths may have survived as late as 2,000 BCE.[1] Elephants and other Elephantidae were once classified with other thick-skinned animals in a now invalid order, Pachydermata.

Elephants are the largest land animals now living.[2] The elephant's gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal. At birth it is common for an elephant calf to weigh 120 kilograms (260 lb). They typically live for 50 to 70 years, but the oldest recorded elephant lived for 82 years.[3] The largest elephant ever recorded was shot in Angola in 1956. This male weighed about 24,000 lb (11,000 kg),[4] with a shoulder height of 3.96 metres (13.0 ft), a metre (yard) taller than the average male African elephant.[5] The smallest elephants, about the size of a calf or a large pig, were a prehistoric species that lived on the island of Crete during the Pleistocene epoch.[6]

Elephants are a symbol of wisdom in Asian cultures and are famed for their memory and intelligence, where their intelligence level is thought to be equal to that of dolphins[7][8][9][10] and primates.[11][12] Aristotle once said the elephant was "the beast which passeth all others in wit and mind."[13] The word "elephant" has its origins in the Greek ἐλέφας, meaning "ivory" or "elephant".[14]

According to observations, healthy adult elephants have no natural predators,[15] although lions may take calves or weak individuals.[16][17]They are, however, threatened by human intrusion and poaching.

The Simpsons Movie is a 2007 American animated comedy film based on the animated television series The Simpsons. The film was directed by David Silverman, and stars the regular television cast of Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Tress MacNeille, and Pamela Hayden. It features Albert Brooks as Russ Cargill, the evil head of the Environmental Protection Agency who intends to destroy Springfield after Homer pollutes the lake. As the townspeople exile him and eventually his family abandon him, Homer works to redeem his folly by stopping Cargill's scheme.

Previous attempts to create a film version of The Simpsons failed due to the lack of a script of appropriate length and production crew members. Eventually, producers James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, Mike Scully, and Richard Sakai began development of the film in 2001. A writing team consisting of Scully, Jean, Brooks, Groening, George Meyer, David Mirkin, Mike Reiss, John Swartzwelder, Jon Vitti, Ian Maxtone-Graham, and Matt Selman was assembled. They conceived numerous plot ideas, with Groening's being the one developed into a film. The script was re-written over a hundred times, and this creativity continued after animation had begun in 2006. This meant hours of finished material was cut, which included cameo roles from Erin Brockovich, Minnie Driver, Isla Fisher, Kelsey Grammer, and Edward Norton. Tom Hanks and Green Day appeared in the final cut as themselves.

Tie-in promotions were made with several companies, including Burger King and 7-Eleven, which transformed selected stores into Kwik-E-Marts. The film premiered in Springfield, Vermont, which had won the right to hold it through a competition organized by Fox. The film was a box office success, as it grossed over $527 million and received positive reviews.
Originally serialized in CoroCoro Comic from 2000 to 2002, the individual chapters were collected and published in 14 tankōbon volume by Shogakukan. The series focuses on a group of kids who form teams with which they battle one another using highly powerful spinning tops called "Beyblades" which are enchanted with magical spirits.

The manga is licensed for English language release in North America by Viz Media. The manga was adapted into a three season anime series. The first season, spanning 51 episodes, aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from January 8, 2001, to December 24, 2001. The second season, Beyblade V-Force, ran for another 51 episodes from January 7, 2002, until December 30, 2002. The third season, Beyblade G Revolution, also spanned 51 episodes (the 51st was a double-length special but was split into two episodes for the Western release) and ran from January 6, 2003, until its conclusion on December 29, 2003. The seasons are licensed by Nelvana for an English-language release in North America.

A new series of Beyblade has been released in 2009 (2010 in U.S.), entitled Beyblade: Metal Fusion (known as Metal Fight Beyblade in Japan). It features a new cast of characters and Beyblades. A sequel series has also been released in 2010 (2011 in U.S.), called Beyblade: Metal Masters.

The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satiricalparody of a working class American lifestyle epitomized by its family of the same name, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, andMaggie. The show is set in the fictional city of Springfield, and lampoons American culture, society, television and many aspects of thehuman condition.

The family was conceived by Groening shortly before a pitch for a series of animated shorts with the producer James L. Brooks. Groening created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after members of his own family, substituting Bart for his own name. The shorts became a part of The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987. After a three-season run, the sketch was developed into a half-hour prime time show and was an early hit for Fox, becoming the first Fox series to land in the Top 30 ratings in a season (1989–1990).

Since its debut on December 17, 1989, the show has broadcast 486 episodes and the twenty second season started airing on September 26, 2010. The Simpsons Movie, a feature-length film, was released in theaters worldwide on July 26 and July 27, 2007, and grossed US$527 million worldwide.

The Simpsons has won dozens of awards since it debuted as a series, including 27 Primetime Emmy Awards, 27 Annie Awards and aPeabody Award. Time magazine's December 31, 1999 issue named it the 20th century's best television series, and on January 14, 2000 the Simpson family was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Simpsons is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and in 2009 it surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest running American primetime entertainment series. Homer's exclamatory catchphrase "D'oh!" has been adopted into the English lexicon, while The Simpsons has influenced many adult-oriented animated sitcoms.

Room 7 Camp

Dominic and Rob watching the viewRecently Ruma Whitu went to Living Springs for their camp. Firstly we walked from the Sign of the Bellbird to Living Springs. Next we had a stop on the walk to talk about the islands around the area and the 'onga onga'. When we arrived at camp we got used to the place and got to know the people in our cabins and we got to see the area around us. Some of the fun activities we did were archery and rifles, swimming, bush walks, the animal survival game, as well as initiatives. We also went to the farm on the last day and learned about shearing, farm life, horse, guinea pigs and more. We even got a ride on a dirt bike!

Thank you to Terry (Hannah's dad), Brenda (Savannah's mum), Andrew (Ayden's dad), Jenni (Sophie M's mum), and Jim (Sophie C's granddad). Camp was awesome and I want to go again in the holidays!
